Getting the Word Out
Starting July 1, 2011, the ICS Newsletter is an email-based news bulletin that we will use to send out news and announcements for ICS. We will have one issue each week and send it out Sunday evening. Interim issues can and will be sent out as needed.
What: Anything parents need to know about, and that you would have previously put on PO, we want to put in the Newsletter and get the word out to parents. As a school staff member or PTSA volunteer (including ASB reps, sports chairs, after school clubs chairs, all PTSA committees chairs, etc.) you will most certainly need to post dates, inform or promote or organize an event, solicit volunteers, thank volunteers, or give a news recap after an event.
Content: The content may be included in an email or as a file attachment, whatever is quick and easy for you. We will format all entries to be consistent with the look and feel of the newsletter. Send entries to communications@icsptsa.org. Sign-up forms, flyers, and that sort of thing can be submitted as well, so please include them. We will post a link to them.
Title: It’s always nice to include a title so we don’t have to come up with one. Short and clear.
Contact Info: When necessary, include a contact name and/or email. We cannot post personal email addresses or phone numbers. Use your lwsd.org or icsptsa.org email addresses. If you don’t have a PTSA email account, email webmaster@icsptsa.org and request one.
When: Please send in all submissions by Thursday midnight before the Sunday issue that you want your posting in.
Approval: Submissions are reviewed and approved by the PTSA Communications VP.
