Upcoming ICS Events

ASB Meeting: Monday, Sep. 26, 2 - 3:15 p.m., at ICS
For students who signed up at the club fair, this is the first meeting of the year.

Robotics Club Kickoff Meeting: Friday, Sep. 30, 2:15 - 3:15 p.m., at ICS (Room #165)
For anyone interested in Robotics Club, this meeting is for new and returning students and their parents. The club will meet every Friday, 2:15 - 4:30 p.m. (after this first meeting) and concentrate on developing robotics skills (planning, building, programming, analyzing) as well as teamwork and leadership skills. Students will work with the VEX IQ/VEX system. Our club will participate in two local and regional VEX competitions. The fee for the year is $100. Come learn more!

Back to School "Pajama Jam" Dance: Friday, Sep. 30, 7 - 10 p.m., at ICS
Students are encouraged to come in their favorite pajamas. Especially for new students, this is a great way to start the year off with a blast!

Student Club Online Signup

Students who didn't get a chance to sign up for clubs that interest them can do so via the ICS ASB Facebook page.

Volunteer Opportunities

Families are expected to complete 30 hours of volunteering each year at ICS. Remember to sign up for your volunteer interests by Friday, September 30. After that, you'll need to reach out to committee chairs to try to find opportunities. They may be scarce, so make it easy on yourself and sign up online for your interests. Here's all you need to know.

Staff Kitchen Helper Needed

Do you have a few minutes each afternoon before it's time to pick up your student? The ICS staff would love it if a parent volunteer would help keep the staff kitchen tidy--little things like emptying the coffee pot, wiping counters as needed, etc. The job could be split between up to two people for the year and provide a slow and steady way to help earn your 30 hours. ICS Signkeeper Needed

PTSA Meeting Follow-up

The first PTSA meeting of the 2016-17 school year was held September 13, 2016. Our phone tree volunteers are gearing up for another year of making sure our ICS families are aware of upcoming PTSA meeting information. Math Club Registration

Focus Week and Summer 2016 Pictures Needed

The Yearbook club needs photos of ICS students from Focus Week 2016 and the summer that just ended. The pictures should have clear face shots and show students doing interesting activities. They should be at least 3MB and include a short description of the students in the pictures and what's happening. We look forward to creating a fun and memorable 2016-2017 Yearbook with your help.

Ski/Snowboard Club Information

The Ski and Snowboarding Club is going to Stevens Pass in 2017! This is a six-week after-school program on Wednesdays in January and February. We will travel from ICS to Stevens Pass via a chartered bus, leaving school at 12:30 p.m. and getting back at 8 p.m. Participating students will have the opportunity to enjoy being with friends and having fun in the snow. Parents: Become a chaperone and get up to eight volunteer hours per trip.

The scheduled dates are January 4, 11, and 18 25 and February 1, 8, and 15 (if there is a cancellation because of rain we will add an additional week at the end). Full details are in the ski club flyer.
